"Every member of the Church, excluding no-one, has the grace and the responsibility of caring for vocations. It is a duty that enters into the vital dynamism of the Church and into its process of development. Only on the basis of this conviction can pastoral work for vocations manifest its truly ecclesial aspect and develop a plan of action in accordance with this, making use also of specific agencies and appropriate instruments of communion and co-responsibility."- John Paul II, Apostolic Exhortation "Pastores dabo vobis"
As the family is said to be the seedbed for all vocations, it so follows that the local Church (parish communities) is the seedbed for the spiritual life of families.
It is the responsibility of each parishioner to share in the building of a vocation culture throughout our archdiocese. In cooperation with many Catholic organizations (e.g. Serra clubs) and parish groups whose apostolate is to promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life, parishioners may find this page helpful in bringing the latest information of building a vocation culture in the Vancouver Archdiocese.
The Vocations Office is currently
promoting Vocation Family Kits
in Parishes.
